This presentation will discuss the new term “diabesity,” representing type 2 diabetes occurring in the context of obesity, along with the latest epidemiological data describing the rising prevalence, health impact, and significant impacts on country’s productivity and economic growth. Diabesity epidemic is likely to be the biggest epidemic in human history. The presentation will describe some simple steps utilizing naturopathic medicine (holistic nutrition & supplementation) to prevent and reverse diabesity. Several topics of holistic nutrition will be discussed, including omega-3 vs omega 6 fatty acids, farm raised vs. wild caught fish, organics vs. non-organics, etc. You will also learn how to read the labels on nutritional supplements – what to look for and what to avoid.
