Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Teerawong Kasiolarn (Kan) moved to study in the U.S. since 16 years old. Dr. Kan received a dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Computer Information Systems with honors at the Arizona State University in 2000. Dr. Kan later received the Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Acupuncture in 2005 from Bastyr University, world-renowned for its curriculum in science-based natural medicine.
After the graduation, Dr. Kan served as the Naturopathic medical resident at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM) in Connecticut, Yale-Prevention Research Center (PRC), and the Integrative Medicine Center (IMC) at Griffin Hospital, a teaching facility affiliated with Yale University. After his residency, Dr. Kan moved to Northern Virginia area and had been practicing at Nova Medical Group, the largest integrative primary care practice in Northern Virginia, as a naturopathic doctor and a licensed acupuncturist until 2016 when the practice was acquired by Inova Health Systems.
Dr. Kan opened his own Naturopathic clinic (Dr. Kan Wellness Center) in March 2019. Dr. Kan is also still working as a licensed acupuncturist at the Inova Traditional Chinese Medicine Center where he helped launch the clinic.
Dr. Kan focuses on weight management, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, thyroid disorders, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, anxiety/depression, and autoimmune diseases. Dr. Kan combines both western Naturopathic Medicine and eastern Traditional Chinese Medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. He truly believes in the key Naturopathic principle, “the Healing Power of Nature,” in which he utilizes natural therapies that support and promote the body’s innate healing ability. Dr. Kan addresses the underlying causes of disease and treats a wide range of diseases through safe and effective personalized natural treatments including herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, clinical nutrition, and lifestyle counseling.
Dr. Kan, his wife (Angel), and two young children (Aunya & Adrian) are currently residing in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Kan and his wife enjoy hiking, doing outdoor activities, playing outdoor sports, playing music, and traveling.
